Duties and responsibilities

• Answer patients’ questions and teach them about tests and protocols
• Verify laboratory results and follow up on abnormal results;
• Respond to and assist physicians;
• Perform coordination of IVF and TE cycles;
• Perform nurse-patient encounter for post pregnancy, ovulation and IVF ultrasound;
• Ensure that the patient’s file is complete, hand out prescriptions and teach the patient about the different medications prescribed;
• Schedule an IUI (insemination) appointment and teach the IUI procedure;
• Teach the procedure for ovulation induction and oocyte puncture according to medical guidelines;
• Take blood samples;
• Prepare the patient pre PO and TE;
• Prepare IV medications;
• Perform post OP and TE monitoring;
• Manage medication and equipment inventory;
• Perform all other duties related to the position.

Job Requirements

• DEC in nursing;
• Be a member of the Ordre des infirmiers et infirmières du Québec (OIICQ);
• A minimum of two years experience in nursing, fertility or a related specialty is an asset;
• Abilities: Flexibility, adaptability, confidentiality, initiative, team player, organized and structured in his/her work methods.
