We are committed to offering our patients the best care, in a human, respectful, and scientifically advanced environment. It is with pride that we announce great news: our clinic is now accredited by CHU Sainte-Justine for the performance of PGT-SR and PGT-M genetic tests, covered by RAMQ*.
What are PGT-SR and PGT-M?
PGT (Preimplantation Genetic Testing) tests are examinations performed on embryos before their transfer during in vitro fertilization (IVF). They make it possible to detect certain genetic or chromosomal anomalies, and thus optimize the chances of a viable pregnancy while reducing the risks of transmitting hereditary diseases.
- PGT-SR (Preimplantation Genetic Testing for Structural Rearrangements): This test is for couples who are carriers of chromosomal rearrangements (inversions, translocations, duplications, etc.). It allows the selection of embryos that have a balanced chromosomal structure, thereby reducing the risks of miscarriage or transmission of anomalies.
- PGT-M (Preimplantation Genetic Testing for Monogenic disorders): This test targets a specific genetic disease that one or both parents are likely to transmit (for example: cystic fibrosis, muscular dystrophy, Tay-Sachs disease, etc.). It allows only embryos that are not carriers of the disease to be implanted.

Easier access thanks to RAMQ
Thanks to this new accreditation, certain cases of PGT-SR and PGT-M can now be covered by RAMQ, which represents a major breakthrough for many families. This coverage can significantly reduce the costs associated with these specialized tests.
*Please note, however, that eligibility for RAMQ coverage depends on several clinical criteria and is not automatic. To find out if your situation could be covered, our embryology team will be happy to assist you.
